Low-Cost Loans for Quake Repair Offered
Offering a small helping hand to Los Angeles County homeowners still struggling with damage from the 1994 Northridge earthquake, a limited amount of federal funds is available for low-cost loans, county officials said Monday.
About $600,000 will be administered by the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission to repair residential properties in unincorporated county areas. Loans are available only to applicants who have previously applied for grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration.
The deadline is April 10. Loans will be awarded to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.
To apply, call the Community Development Commission at (213) 890-7248.
