Marsden Commits to Run at Northridge
Tara Marsden of Thousand Oaks High, runner-up in the 3,200 meters in the Marmonte League finals, has signed a letter of intent with Cal State Northridge.
Marsden, who has bests of 5 minutes 20.6 seconds in the 1,600 and 11:23.66 in the 3,200, also will run cross-country.
Volleyball
Channel Islands High setter Junior Mosones has been named most valuable player of the Marmonte League.
Highland setter Brandon Kimball has been named MVP of the Golden League.
Baseball
Left-handed pitcher Clint Marcus of Valley College has signed with Nevada.
Basketball
Kerri Garland, a center for College of the Canyons, has signed with Sacramento State. Garland, twice All-Western State Conference, averaged 14.8 points and 11.8 rebounds last season.
Golf
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. Lost Hills Station will sponsor a charity tournament June 3 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks.
