Reward Offered in Grocery Store Heist

Ventura County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 in the weekend robbery of a Thousand Oaks grocery store.

The heist occurred about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at a Ralphs supermarket on North Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. A man went into the store, pulled out a pistol, pointed it at the manager and demanded money, said Sgt. Frank O’Hanlon, an investigator with the Sheriff’s Department.

The robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from one of the registers and ran from the store.

The suspect is described as a Latino man, 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 160 pounds with bad acne. He was wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap and dark pants when last seen.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and filing of criminal charges against the person responsible for the robbery.
