Four of the 16 selections on the new live album were recorded in Southern California, three of them during a 1991 show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, where the band was the support act for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with Pearl Jam the opening act.

The songs from that Dec. 18 show: “Drain You,” “Aneurysm” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” The fourth SoCal recording: “Heart-Shaped Box,” which was taped Dec. 30, 1993, when Nirvana headlined the Forum.

The other songs on the album: “Been a Son,” “Lithium,” “School” and “Blew” (recorded during a 1991 performance on an Amsterdam TV show); “Sliver” (Springfield, Mass., concert, 1993); “Spank Thru” (Rome concert, 1991); “Scentless Apprentice” (“MTV Live and Loud” concert in Seattle, 1994); “Milk It” (Seattle concert, 1994); “Negative Creep” (Seattle concert, 1991); “Polly” and “Breed” (both during London concert, 1989); and “tourette’s” (the 1992 Reading Festival in England).
