KERNVILLE--Witness and celebrate the migration of a most unusual bird at the Kern Valley Turkey Vulture Festival, Sept. 28-29. The festival is held from 7 a.m. to dusk Saturday in the Kern River Preserve; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday in Circle Park in Kernville. Among the features: guided morning and dusk bird watches; talks and bird-banding demonstrations by biologists; tours of the Kern River Preserve; music; and Native American and conservation displays. PETALUMA--Seasoned treasures await at the Petaluma Outdoor Antique Faire, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 29 on Kentucky and Fourth streets in the historic downtown. More than 215 exhibitors will be on hand at the free event. (707) 763-7686.

OJAI--The Bowlful of Blues will be back 2-10 p.m. Oct. 5 under the oaks in the Ojai Bowl. The 14th annual outdoor music festival will feature W.C. MURPHYS--Bacchanalian festivities are in store at the third annual Calaveras Grape Stomp, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 5 in Murphys Park and along Main Street. Activities include a grape stomping competitions; live music; wine tasting; gourmet foods; a silent auction; and the Murphys Gold Rush Street Faire, with arts, crafts, collectibles and food.
