KERNVILLE--Witness and celebrate the migration of a most unusual bird at the Kern Valley Turkey Vulture Festival, Sept. 28-29. The festival is held from 7 a.m. to dusk Saturday in the Kern River Preserve; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday in Circle Park in Kernville. Among the features: guided morning and dusk bird watches; talks and bird-banding demonstrations by biologists; tours of the Kern River Preserve; music; and Native American and conservation displays.
