San Antonio Spur center David Robinson, who has missed only two games in the past four years, is expected to miss two to four weeks because of a back injury, the team said.

Robinson was examined at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles on Monday and was told to return for a five-day period of rehabilitation.

“The current problem doesn’t indicate that surgery is necessary,” said Spur General Manager Greg Popovich, adding that it was a chronic injury rather than one suffered on a specific play.
