Mike Gettman’s one-out single in the top of the ninth inning drove in Bobby Koster and Foothill went on to upset fourth-ranked Canyon, 4-2, in a Century League game Thursday at Canyon. Foothill (10-3, 5-0) took over sole possession of first place in league.

Canyon (12-4, 4-1) took a 2-1 lead into the seventh inning but starter Jeff Leuenberger threw two wild pitches that enabled Foothill’s Jon Stephens to go to third and then score the tying run.

The score remained tied until the ninth, when Koster walked, stole second and scored on Gettman’s single to give Foothill a 3-2 lead. Chad Concolino added insurance with a triple that drove in Gettman.
