CHP Now Cruising the Superhighway
The California Highway Patrol on Wednesday unveiled a Web page that will provide up-to-date traffic information.
The CHP’s Computer-Aided Dispatch Media Information Center provides details on traffic collisions, hazardous spills, roadway or lane blockages, traffic hazards and disabled vehicles.
The site offers links to other pages, including CHP Weather Advisory Bulletins for statewide travel advisories and other traffic-related sites.
The Sierra Traffic Action Management Program’s site covers traffic conditions and requirements within the Northern California Sierra Nevada area. The site’s data are maintained by Caltrans’ Kingvale Snow Management Center.
The Kinetic Information Manager site displays weather advisories, significant highway restrictions and chain requirements for the Inland Empire region of Southern California, including Riverside and San Bernardino counties and portions of Inyo and Mono counties. The data is maintained by the Inland Transportation Management Center in San Bernardino.
Other links include the California Department of Transportation’s Current Highway Information, Southern California Traffic Report and California Mountain Highways.
The CHP’s site can be found at https://cad.chp.ca.gov/
