High School Needs Cultural Center

Share

My husband and I and another couple recently went to the theater. We didn’t go to the Shubert Theater to see “Ragtime;” we didn’t go to the Ahmanson to see “Showboat;” we didn’t go to the Thousand Oaks Cultural Center. We drove a tremendous distance of three-quarters of a mile to Oak Park High School gymnasium. We saw a colossal, fantastic, first-class musical--”42nd Street” by the high school’s drama department.

But the time has come for a “professional” place to perform on the high school campus. For those who may not be aware of our goal, we hope to see a cultural center built on the campus of Oak Park High School.

Over the last 14 months, more than $20,000 has been raised toward this goal. I would estimate we need approximately $1 million to bring our dream to fruition. Be a part of the “Support the Christopher Ruhle Performing Arts Memorial Fund.” For those who have contributed to this goal, a big thank you. If you haven’t had an opportunity to do so, won’t you please dip into your pockets and join those who have gotten this project off the ground?
