Sex Offender Accused of Failing to Register
Sheriff’s investigators have arrested a Meiners Oaks man for allegedly failing to register with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department as a registered sex offender.
Vern Dale Webb, 33, was arrested Tuesday at his home following an investigation by the department’s west county sexual assault unit.
Authorities announced the arrest in a news release Wednesday and were not available for comment.
Investigators said that Webb failed to register within 10 days of his birthday and report his new address to the Sheriff’s Department.
He was booked into the Ventura County Jail and held on $5,000 bail.
He faces up to three years in prison if convicted, authorities said.
