Driver on Suspended License Crashes Car
An Oxnard man driving with a suspended license was in fair condition Thursday at a local hospital after his car crashed into a high-voltage power line on California 118 north of Camarillo, authorities said.
Arthur Milmine, 52, was trapped in his car for about 50 minutes, completely blocking the two-lane highway east of Mesa School Road after the 12:30 p.m. crash, said a spokeswoman with the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred after Milmine blacked out when he suffered a diabetic reaction, the spokeswoman said.
Firefighters extracted Milmine from his wrecked vehicle, and he was airlifted to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.
Milmine’s license was suspended after a previous conviction for drunken driving, police said.
