Man Crushed Under Heavy Equipment

A man was killed near Ojai Monday evening when a front-end loader--a heavy piece of construction equipment--flipped over and crushed him, sheriff’s deputies said.
The accident occurred in the 8000 block of Ojai Santa Paula Road, near Happy Valley School Road. The area is largely agricultural, planted with lemon, avocado and apricot trees, deputies said.
The man, whom authorities did not identify, was apparently working at the time of the accident. His death is being investigated.
