City of Hope Tour Offered Sept. 21

Share

People interested in raising money for research about and treatment of diseases, such as cancer, AIDS and diabetes, are invited to attend a Sept. 21 tour of the City of Hope campus in Duarte.

The tour is sponsored by the Conejo Valley auxiliary of the City of Hope, called Hope for Kids. The group raises money for City of Hope--a San Gabriel Valley hospital and research center dealing with catastrophic diseases.

“The work over there is so valuable for people,” said Dan Bonfiglio, one of the chapter’s founders. “The emphasis is not just on the person’s physical well-being but their mental well-being too.”

The event will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The tour will include lunch and a guest speaker. Because of the nature of the tour, parents are requested not to bring children.

Tour carpools will be formed at 9 a.m. at the Best Buy parking lot on Moorpark Road at Hillcrest Drive.

For information about the tour or the auxiliary, call Lori or Dan Bonfiglio at (805) 531-1818.
