The seasoned bargain shopper isn’t looking for cheap items, but rather quality items at reduced prices. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the best bargain shoppers are those with big bucks and expensive tastes.

Who else would even know that an Italian knit “onesie” for an infant sells at one boutique in town for $150? But Ms. Bigbucks is no fool; she shops at EuroKids where the same outfit is $37.89.

Owners Siona & E.J. Thacker travel the world, importing exquisite merchandise from 14 countries for children and selling itat exceptionally low prices. Siona Thacker is designer Siona Becker, well known in the fashion field, a fact that helps in deal-making with both European and American designers.

Expensive boutiques carry the labels you’ll find here, but I can’t reveal most of the names lest I jeopardize the Thackers’ buying power with these manufacturers. One I can mention is the Little River label. A dress of theirs that retails for $150 sells here for $53.99. From France, some lovely soft cottons that usually sell for $41.50 are $14.97. Be sure to check the sale rack near the entrance.

All the merchandise is first-quality and current designs. The Thackers have a low markup and are able to make excellent buys because they buy directly from the manufacturer. Sizes go up to 20 for boys and girls, so this is also a good stop for young teens’ apparel.

M. H. Designs, an excellent source for fabrics and upholstery at reasonable prices, has branched into another field: silk plants and flowers. To celebrate this new venture and new location, they are offering 40% off selected areca and fishtail palms.
