Rio Mesa Prevails Behind Coleman

John Coleman of Rio Mesa High won the 100 meters in 10.9 seconds and the long jump at 20 feet in a 73-54 victory over Camarillo in a track and field meet Wednesday at Camarillo.

Rio Mesa (9-0) took a 20-3 lead after three events.

GIRLS’ TRACK

Rio Mesa 70 1/2, Camarillo 56 1/2--Freshman Porchea Carroll won the 100 in 12.0, the 200 in 25.5 and the long jump at 17-10 for the Spartans (9-0) at Rio Mesa.

Lisa Wygant won the 100 high hurdles in 15.7, the 300 lows in 48.1, the high jump at 5-2 and the triple jump at 34-3 for Camarillo (5-2).

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Flintridge Prep d. La Salle, 15-6, 15-3, 15-5--Craig Revell had 23 kills for the Rebels (8-2, 6-1) in a Santa Fe League victory at La Salle.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Royal 11, Camarillo 7--Jesse Jin and Anuj Sharma won three doubles sets for the Highlanders (7-4, 3-3) in a Marmonte League victory at Camarillo.
