Aaron Sele doesn’t need his best stuff if the Rangers are going to score runs like this for him.

Sele became the majors’ first five-game winner and Juan Gonzalez homered twice and drove in four runs Sunday, leading the Texas Rangers to an 11-4 rout of the Kansas City Royals Sunday at Kansas City.

“I didn’t have good command,” Sele said. “I didn’t have too much, but I was able to get through five innings.”

Once again, the Rangers gave Sele all the run support he would need. Texas has scored 57 runs in the right-hander’s five starts, reaching double digits four times.

Sele (5-0), who entered the game 0-4 in his career against the Royals, became the first Texas pitcher to win his first five starts since Kevin Brown in 1990. He gave up four runs and eight hits in five-plus innings. His earned-run average, which had been a league-leading 1.16, rose to 2.00.

Gonzalez, who drove in five runs on Saturday night, has 32 RBIs in April, two shy of Tino Martinez’s record for the month. Gonzalez had one RBI in Texas’ March 31 game against the White Sox.

Gonzalez went three for five with three runs scored. He has six three-hit games already this season and the multihomer game was the 28th of his career. He hit a solo homer in the first off Chris Haney (2-1) and had a three-run shot in the ninth off Jeff Montgomery.

Minnesota 2, Seattle 0--Brad Radke (3-1) combined with Mike Trombley, Greg Swindell and Rick Aguilera on a six-hitter at Seattle, Minnesota’s first shutout this year. Aguilera pitched the ninth for his fourth save.

Terry Steinbach and Marty Cordova drove in Minnesota’s runs in the seventh off Jamie Moyer (1-3).
