Witnesses Sought in Motorcyclist’s Death
Authorities are looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run accident that killed a Long Beach motorcycle rider early Sunday morning.
Jose Luis Guillen, 29, of Santa Ana was arrested Sunday on suspicion of killing Andrea Giordano, 35, of Long Beach. Police said Guillen allegedly swerved across four lanes on the northbound Costa Mesa Freeway near the Edinger Avenue exit when he hit the motorcycle rider.
Guillen called Costa Mesa police 45 minutes after the accident, saying someone had stolen his truck during a party. Police found the truck a few hours later, half a mile from Guillen’s Santa Ana home, said California Highway Patrol Officer Angel Johnson.
Johnson asked that anyone who saw a red 1994 Dodge Ram truck driving erratically on the Costa Mesa Freeway on Sunday morning about 12 call her at (714) 567-6000.
