WESTMINSTER
Today is the last day for letters of interest from residents who would like to fill the council seat left vacant by the resignation of Marge Shillington.
To qualify, applicants must be residents of Westminster and registered voters. They must bring the letter by 5 p.m today to City Clerk Theresa Gremling, City Hall, 8200 Westminster Blvd. They can fax it to (714) 373-4684, but Gremling requests they follow up the fax with a hard copy by mail. The council has 30 days from Shillington’s resignation date of Nov. 10 to appoint a successor or schedule a special election to complete the term, which ends in November 2000.
