ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS
Oakley Inc.: The Foothill Ranch maker of sunglasses, goggles and footwear reported that net income for the third quarter rose 21% to $8.2 million, or 12 cents a share, from $6.8 million, or 10 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales advanced 13% to $67.3 million from $59.4 million.
But the company’s stock dropped 11.5%, or $1.25 a share, to $9.63. Oakley said its third-quarter net sales from its new footwear line were about $900,000, due to a slower-than-anticipated increase in the company’s production capacities.
