Man, Teen Killed During Argument at Restaurant
A man and a teenager were shot and killed early Wednesday outside a Harbor Boulevard fast-food restaurant.
Daniel Gomez, 20, of Santa Ana and a 17-year-old Jesus Manuel Garcia of Garden Grove died in front of the restaurant in the 700 block of South Harbor Boulevard.
The victims pulled into the drive-thru at the restaurant, which was still open, after midnight, police said. As they pulled out, they began arguing with a group of people in the parking lot, said Sgt. Randy Eldridge.
At that point, Garcia got out of the car and confronted the group. Unknown gunmen shot him.
The gunmen then fled in a car, and Gomez got out of his vehicle. At that point, the suspects looped around and shot him, said Lt. Hugh Mooney.
The shooting is being investigated by the police gang detail.
The incident brought the number of homicides in Santa Ana to 20 this year.
