Greenfield Shoots 69 to Win League Title
Fountain Valley’s Jeff Greenfield shot a three-under 69 during the second day of competition at Green River’s Orange Course to win the Sunset League individual golf title by one stroke Monday.
Greenfield finished at 142. Brian Six of Esperanza had a one-shot lead going into the final day, but shot 71 to finish at 143.
In a nonleague match:
No. 1 Santa Margarita 400, Carlsbad 418--Sophomore Matt Williams shot four-over 77 and sophomores Scott Manley and Javaid Ansari each had 78 for Santa Margarita (12-1) at Coto de Caza’s North Course and at El Camino Country Club.
In nonleague baseball:
Buena Park 6, Rancho Alamitos 1--Earl Parker was four for four with two home runs and three RBIs for visiting Buena Park (7-9). Andy Maurer (2-2) and Kirk Bounds combined on the two-hitter for the Coyotes.
In nonleague softball:
Edison 8, Cerritos Gahr 0--Freshman Brittany Hyams had three hits and scored two runs, and junior Scarlett Neal had two hits, and two RBIs for Edison (9-13).
