Newbury Park 26, Moorpark 7--Junior running back Marcus Crawford had a career-high 243 yards in 33 carries and scored one touchdown for the host Panthers (4-3, 3-1).
Newbury Park surprised Moorpark (3-4, 3-1) on the third play when Cameron Merrill threw a 59-yard scoring pass to L. Ray Hawkins.
The Panthers added another score on their next possession, driving 80 yards on five plays, capped by Crawford’s 39-yard touchdown run.
Moorpark got untracked, as the county’s leading passer, Dylan McLaughlin, scored on a one-yard run late in the second quarter. He threw for 239 yards, completing 20 of 39 passes with one interception.
Matt Butcher scored on a one-yard run and an 11-yard pass from Merrill.
