St. Francis 50, Bishop Montgomery 27--Matthew Milton rushed 241 yards in 35 carries, including touchdown runs of 13, four, four, and four for the Golden Knights (7-0) at Bishop Montgomery.
St. Francis survived a high-scoring first half that saw Bishop Montgomery (2-5) pile up 212 yards rushing and trail only 22-21.
Bishop Montgomery took the second-half kickoff and drove to the St. Francis 47-yard line before safety Louis Fisher intercepted quarterback Jon Sarmiento’s pass and returned it to Bishop Montgomery’s 29.
Sarmiento was knocked out of the game on the play with a shoulder injury. Four plays later, Milton scored on one of his four-yard touchdown runs for a 30-21 lead.
Mark Garcia, who had a first-half touchdown reception, returned an interception 94 yards for a touchdown to close the scoring.
St. Francis quarterback John Sciarra was 10 of 19 passing for 196 yards, all in the first half.
