Al Fayed Denied U.S. Records of Son Dodi, Diana
A federal appeals court ruled Wednesday that Mohamed Al Fayed is not entitled to U.S. government records related to his son and Princess Diana.
Last year, the Egyptian-born multimillionaire sought all documents concerning his son Dodi and Diana, who were killed in a 1997 car crash in Paris, as well as documents pertaining to himself.
Al Fayed has said he believes there was a murder conspiracy by people who disapproved of Diana’s relationship with his son. An investigation by a French magistrate blamed their driver. Tests revealed he was drunk.
Al Fayed initially sought the information from the National Security Agency under the Freedom of Information Act. The NSA refused.
Al Fayed’s request under a different federal law was rejected in Wednesday’s ruling by the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
