* Yoga Mandir, a nonprofit organization in Santa Monica that offers outreach programs to the homeless and teenagers in detention centers, needs volunteers to update mailing lists, greet students and answer the phone. Volunteers can earn free yoga classes. Information: (310) 395-0054.

* Pet Adoption Fund, a dog and cat rescue and adoption group, needs volunteers to assist at its Canoga Park shelter with walking, grooming and playing with the animals and driving them to and from the veterinarian.
