Jason Boyce scored a goal and had an assist as the Waves defeated Cincinnati, 3-0, in A-League soccer Sunday at Santa Ana Stadium.

Boyce, a former standout at Corona del Mar High who leads the league with 21 points (seven goals, seven assists), scored in the 29th minute off a cross from Steve Patterson. Midway through the second half, Boyce assisted on a goal by Jose Vasquez, and Sean Lockhart scored the final goal in the 75th minute off a pass from Jake Dancy.

The Marina girls’ soccer team won its second consecutive L.A. Watts Summer Games championship Sunday, defeating Palos Verdes Peninsula, 1-0, at Cerritos College.

Reigning longboard world champion Daize Shayne of Hawaii and national longboarding champion Kristen Raymond of San Juan Capistrano were eliminated in the first heat.
