Saddleback Memorial Medical Center has expanded its “Moms on Bedrest” program for women bedridden during the final weeks of their pregnancy.
Veteran mom volunteers known as “Bedrest Buddies” are available to help expectant mothers cope with feelings of isolation common to women on bed rest and provide companionship during the wait. Women can also get a basket with videos, books and other educational materials on childbirth, baby care, infant CPR and breast-feeding.
Baskets are available for checking out at the lending library at the Childbirth Education Department on the first floor of the Saddleback Women’s Hospital. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Information: (949) 452-7255
