Eagles Land Stachowski, Hamilton
Aimee Stachowski of Capistrano Valley and Sarah Hamilton of Irvine, both All-Southern Section girls’ water polo players, have been accepted for admission to Santa Margarita High for the 2001-02 school year.
Santa Margarita reached the Division I final last season and won the Division IV title in 2000.
Stachowski and Hamilton play on the same Golden West club team with Kristina Kunkel and Erika Figge, returning all-county players for the Eagles.
Mater Dei defeated Savanna, 10-8, in the first round of Southern Section Division III boys’ tennis playoffs Monday and will play the winner of today’s Foothill-Cypress match.
All-county third baseman Carrie Hagen and shortstop Heather Saltarelli have quit the Marina softball team.
Saltarelli, who has signed with Cal State Fullerton, declined to provide reasons for the decision. Hagen has signed with Arizona.
