Eagles Suspend Three Players
Philadelphia’s leading rusher, Correll Buckhalter, and teammates Terrence Carroll and Darrel Crutchfield were suspended for today’s game at Dallas after Carroll was arrested on marijuana charges Friday night, a source familiar with the players told the Associated Press on Saturday.
Carroll faces drug charges after marijuana was discovered in a car in which he, Buckhalter and Crutchfield were riding, said a source with the Philadelphia Police Department.
Carroll is a rookie safety and Crutchfield is a rookie cornerback. Neither has played.

Construction of a $335-million stadium for the Arizona Cardinals in suburban Tempe could obstruct planes using Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport, a report by the Federal Aviation Administration concluded.
The proposed stadium site is 2.29 miles from one of the runways at Sky Harbor.

Cincinnati Bengal tight end Marco Battaglia will sit out today’s game against the Tennessee Titans because of appendicitis.
Battaglia, who was scheduled for surgery, has played in 88 consecutive games.

Baltimore Raven running back Jamal Lewis was suspended for four games after violating the league’s substance and alcohol abuse policy.
Lewis has been on injured reserve this season after injuring his left knee in the summer.

Rookie running back Tony Taylor was released by Dallas, making room on the roster for linebacker Louis Mackey.
Mackey, a rookie from Akron, has been on the Cowboys’ practice squad. He is expected to play today.
