Bernson Wants Study of Mass Transit Corridor
Councilman and MTA board member Hal Bernson called on the transportation agency Thursday to develop plans for a dedicated public transit system connecting the Chatsworth Metrolink depot and Warner Center.
Bernson introduced a motion for consideration by the MTA board next week that would require the staff to prepare a plan for a busway or light-rail system in the rail right of way that runs parallel to Canoga Avenue.
The councilman said the link is needed because the agency is moving ahead with a high-speed busway between the North Hollywood Red Line station and Warner Center.
“This is long overdue for the West Valley transportation corridor,” said Ali Sar, a spokesman for Bernson.
