Lalau to Decide Future With Banning by Dec. 19
Ed Lalau said he will decide by Dec. 19 whether to remain as football coach at Wilmington Banning as he deals with the death of his mother.
Sia Lalau, 68, died last Wednesday of complications resulting from surgery the previous week to remove a cancerous tumor from her stomach. Lalau said he picked that date because it is right before the winter break.
“She never woke up,” Lalau said. “At the time of her surgery, I decided to step down to help in caring for her. But now that she’s passed away, I don’t know.”
Lalau is 23-24 in five seasons at Banning.
