Residents Warned of Pitchess Jail Escapee

Police urged Santa Clarita Valley residents Tuesday to lock their doors, windows and cars while authorities searched for an escaped inmate from the Pitchess Detention Center jail near Castaic.
The man, whose name was not released, escaped Monday night. He was serving 270 days for evading police and reckless driving. He is 25, 5 feet 8, 150 pounds and was wearing light blue jail clothes, Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Bottomley said.
