Opponent: Colorado Rockies

Series: Monday, 7 p.m.; Tuesday, 7 p.m.; Wednesday, 7 p.m.; Thursday, 6 p.m.

Site: Dodger Stadium

Matchup: When Clint Hurdle took over as manager for Buddy Bell, the Rockies went on one of the longer successful stretches in franchise history, winning 24 of 34 games. But they’d lost 12 of 16 games entering the weekend. Colorado had a 3.32 team earned-run average during its hot streak, but a 7.04 ERA in the last 16 games through Thursday, including a three-game series in which the Rockies gave up 41 runs to the Yankees.

Entering Friday, Colorado had allowed 10 or more runs five times in the last 16 games.

Opponent: Anaheim Angels

Series: Friday, 7 p.m.; Saturday, 7 p.m.; Sunday, 5 p.m.

Site: Edison Field

Matchup: The Dodgers close the interleague portion of their schedule against their neighbors to the south, continuing a lukewarm rivalry that grew a little heated last Sunday when Angel reliever Dennis Cook hit Dodger right fielder Shawn Green in the back with a pitch. The two players exchanged words, both benches emptied, but no punches were thrown.

The Angels will probably pitch around Green after he burned them with four home runs, two off right-hander Ramon Ortiz and two off left-hander Scott Schoeneweis, in last weekend’s series.
