Teenage Girl Killed, 2 Injured in Shooting
A teenage girl was fatally shot Monday morning and two other people were injured, Oakland police said, pushing the city closer to its 100th homicide of the year.
“We do have a homicide. It’s going to be the 97th for the year. I can tell you that there is more than one person shot and it appears they are going to survive,” said Sgt. Gus Galindo from the homicide department. He declined to give more information.
The wounded victims were in stable condition at Highland Hospital, said a nursing supervisor. She would not say when they might be released.
Last year, there were 88 homicides in Oakland.
