Naval Base Issues Noise Warning
Naval Base Ventura County has issued an advisory to alert area residents about high noise levels during its Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony Wednesday morning.
Several low-flying F-14 jets are scheduled to pass over the Port Hueneme base about 9:15 a.m., and there will be a large-caliber gun salute.
The ceremony is closed to the general public.
Assemblywoman Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills) and Assemblyman Tony Strickland (R-Moorpark) will attend, along with local politicians and military officials. Supervisor Kathy Long is scheduled to be a guest speaker.
