No Injuries or Damage Reported in 3.6 Quake

A magnitude 3.6 earthquake centered eight miles south of the summit of Mt. Whitney rattled the Eastern Sierra at 3:02 p.m. Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake, occurring in an area that has not seen much seismic activity recently, was at a depth of six miles, and the epicenter was 16 miles southwest of the Owens Valley town of Lone Pine.
No damage or injuries were reported.
