After coming close in two Grade I races as a 2-year-old, Deefirst will make his first start since Feb. 22 in tonight’s ninth, a $14,150 allowance at 350 yards.

Trained by Paul Jones for Anjora Corp., the 3-year-old son of First Down Dash has won five of 15 and will be reunited with jockey Ramon Sanchez.

Sanchez has been aboard for four of Deefirst’s victories and was the rider when he was second to Valiantly in the PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity and third behind First Place Queen and Sum Special Strawfly in the Golden State Futurity.
