Mountain Lion in Tree Puts Authorities on Alert
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Authorities cordoned off part of a neighborhood Saturday as a mountain lion lounged in the tree of a resident’s backyard.
The big cat was spotted 60 feet up a tree about 11 a.m. near El Vago Street and Journeys End Drive, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Brickerd.
The mountain lion climbed out of the tree hours later after deputies and a game warden from the state Department of Fish and Game cleared the street.
