Southern Mississippi and California rescheduled their hurricane-delayed game for Dec. 4 in Hattiesburg, Miss.

The game was originally scheduled for Thursday but was postponed when Hurricane Ivan closed in on the Mississippi Gulf Coast before making landfall in nearby Alabama.

“We both looked and found the Dec. 4 date the best fit for both institutions’ schedule,” Southern Mississippi Athletic Director Richard Giannini said in a statement Friday.

Giannini said talks were continuing with ESPN on whether the game would be televised.

Alabama State postponed today’s game with Arkansas-Pine Bluff because of power outages at the stadium caused by the weather.

The power at Cramton Bowl had not been restored by Friday morning.

“Right now, we don’t have a guarantee that power will be restored in enough time for the game,” Alabama State Athletic Director Patrick Carter said.

No makeup date was set, but both teams have an open date Oct. 23.

A former Colorado quarterback was convicted Thursday of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass for barging into a woman’s dormitory room and fondling her until a friend came to her aid.

Colt Brennan, 20, could face up to 12 years in prison at sentencing on Nov. 19, and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Authorities arrested him after a woman said he drunkenly barged into her dorm room last January. Brennan, a walk-on, was cut from the team a few days after the incident.

The Eagles (3-0), who opened their final season as Big East members, join the Atlantic Coast Conference next season. They improved to 10-0-2 in the series against UConn (2-1).

Peterson was 14 for 23 for 193 yards with one interception. Callender carried 26 times for 98 yards.
