U.S. Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin shot a second consecutive two-under-par 69 Friday and shared the second-round lead with Bernhard Langer of Germany at the Senior British Open in Carnoustie, Scotland.

Pavin and Langer (71) have four-under totals of 138 and are one shot ahead of a quartet that includes Ian Woosnam (67) and Jay Haas (69).

Pavin was among the early starters and looked set to take a commanding lead before finishing with a double-bogey six at the 18th after hitting his second shot out of bounds.

Americans Dan Forsman (71) and Larry Mize (70) were also tied for second.

Tim Clark shot a bogey-free six-under 64 and shared the second-round lead with Dean Wilson in the Canadian Open after another low-scoring day at St. George’s in Toronto.

Wilson had his second consecutive 65 and matched Clark, the Players Championship winner in May, at 10-under 130 on the hilly, tree-lined course that is friendly to straight hitters.

K.J. Choi shot a five-under 67 for a one-shot lead after two rounds of the Scandinavian Masters at Stockholm.

Choi had six birdies, an eagle and three bogeys to reach nine-under 135, one stroke ahead of Richard Johnson of Sweden, who had a 66.

British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen was one of the overnight leaders, but he slipped to third after a round of 70, leaving him two strokes behind Choi and tied with Rafa Echenique of Argentina.

Mika Miyazato of Japan shot a five-under 67 for the second-round lead at the Evian Masters in Evian-les-Bains, France.

Michelle Wie started the day tied for sixth at four under but slipped down the leaderboard at one over after a sluggish 77 that included a quintuple bogey on the 10th hole.

Doris Chen of Bradenton, Fla., and Katelyn Dambaugh of Goose Creek, S.C., will meet in the final of the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur at Pinehurst, N.C. Chen, 17, defeated stroke-play medalist Danielle Kang of Thousand Oaks, 1 up, in the quarterfinals at the Country Club of North Carolina.

An Orange County Superior Court judge granted a preliminary injunction barring the CIF Southern Section from disclosing the punishment imposed by Santa Margarita High on a coach who violated rules in March.

The Times filed a request under the California Public Records Act seeking access to Southern Section documents and information detailing the punishment. Santa Margarita and the Roman Catholic Bishop of Orange successfully gained a temporary restraining order preventing release of the penalty.

Judge Steven L. Perk ruled that the punishment was part of a personnel matter and applies to the exception of the California Public Records Act. A CIF attorney argued in seeking release of the information that “CIF needs to uphold its accountability to the public.”

Santa Margarita has acknowledged violating undue influence rules during a March 31 open house on campus in which football Coach Harry Welch addressed youth football parents. The Southern Section sought to impose a one-year playoff ban for the football team but later agreed to a different penalty after Santa Margarita offered a compromise. The Times attempted to find out the specifics of the penalty through the Public Records Act request.

The next step in the case is setting a trial date.
