After dipping his toe into the San Diego lease market, professional snowboarder and entrepreneur Shaun White is now ready to do the same in Los Angeles.

The Olympic and X Games gold medalist has put his house in Hollywood Hills West up for rent at $15,000 a month. Alternatively, the Midcentury Modern-style home is listed for sale at $2.195 million, according to Redfin.

Similar to his oceanfront pad in Encinitas, which went up for lease in June, the remodeled home above Sunset Strip has a polished look with dark wood floors and ceilings, elaborate chandeliers and walls of floor-to-ceiling glass.

More than 2,000 square feet of open space includes a living room with a fireplace, an eat-in kitchen and a den. The master suite has a soaking tub and his and hers vanities for a total of three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

Sliding glass doors open to a patio, a built-in barbecue and a swimming pool with a raised spa. A wide deck shared by each bedroom takes in panoramic city views.

White, who owns a number of properties in Southern California as well as Utah, bought the house in 2009 for $1.7 million, property records show.

Mark Rutstein and Greg Holcomb of Partners Trust Real Estate are the co-listing agents, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

White, 28, has twice won gold at the Winter Olympics and holds the record for the most medals at the Winter X Games. The San Diego native has twice won gold medals at the X Games as a skateboarder.

His Encinitas home, set on a bluff with private beach access, is currently offered for $1,200 to $2,100 a night, depending on the date or weekly at a rate of $8,500 to $15,000.
