When you’re at a ballgame, finding something decent to eat is often a challenge. And any foodie sports fan knows you have to be well fed in order to fully enjoy any spectator sport. And now, there’s an app for that.

Hungry Fan, a new smartphone app that launched Monday, is a Yelp-like guide to food and drink stands at stadiums across the country and Canada.

Sports blogger Daina Falk, daughter of Michael Jordan’s agent, David Falk, came up with the idea. She teamed up with Ian Schafer, chief executive of DeepFocus, a digital marketing firm in New York, to develop the app.

The app uses your geographic location to locate baseball and football stadiums nearby. It then gives you the lowdown on every concession stand, along with their menus and prices. A quick browse through the Dodger Stadium listing, for example, notes 17 venues, the type of food each serves and whether they serve alcohol.

The app brings up the very real condition of eater’s remorse one can often experience at a stadium. When you see someone eating a loaded hot dog and garlic fries and you’re stuck munching on peanuts, it can take away from the game.

“With Hungry Fan, there’s no more ‘eaters remorse’ as you walk back to your seat with food, only to see someone walking by with something else that you wanted more,” reads the app description. “And as more stadium goers than ever are gluten-free, kosher, vegan, or have other dietary restrictions, they need to find the foods that fit into their lifestyle.”

The app’s social aspect allows you to log in through Facebook and share what you’re eating. You can also leave comments on each concession stand.
