Police identify man found dead in Brea trash can

The man found dead in a trash can in Brea was identified Saturday as a 46-year-old from Santa Ana.

Brea police said the man was Jose Ramiro Baez Paredes, also known as Ramiro Baez Parades.

The cause of death has not been determined, but the case is being handled as a homicide.

The body was discovered by a motorist driving on Brea Canyon Road on Friday afternoon. The driver stopped to look inside a trash can, saw what appeared to be human hands and immediately contacted the police.
