Man accused of killing 20-year-old girlfriend in Redondo Beach
A 20-year-old woman from Redondo Beach died Thursday, one day after authorities say her boyfriend shot her in the head.
Paige Chiarello was shot about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in a home in the 2500 block of Graham Avenue, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department. She was later taken to a hospital, where she died about 3:30 a.m.
Her boyfriend, Roy Rodriguez Jr., has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Rodriguez, 22, surrendered to police after a crisis negotiator spoke with him on the phone and persuaded him to stand down, police said.
The couple have an 8-month-old child, police said.
Four others, including the child, were inside the home during the shooting but were not injured, police said.
Rodriguez is being held on $2-million bail. He’s scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
