SWAT team responding to gunfire reports in O.C.’s Silverado Canyon
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team is responding to reports of gunshots in Silverado Canyon.
Authorities were flooded with reports of gunshots from residents in the Jackson Ranch area of Silverado at about 10:55 a.m., Lt. Dan Dwyer said. No suspects or specific location for the gunshots have been identified, he said.
Authorities have closed down about a three-mile stretch of Santiago Canyon Road between Silverado Canyon Road and Modjeska Canyon Road.
“It’s going to be a long search,” Dwyer said. “It’s a large, open area.”
There were no reports of injuries. Residents in the area have been told to stay inside, Dwyer said.
