Southbound 110 Freeway in Pasadena jammed after dump truck crash
A dump truck struck an overpass support on the 110 Freeway in Pasadena early Tuesday, forcing the shutdown of all southbound lanes for several hours, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. at Pasadena Avenue. The truck overturned, scattering its load across several lanes. Traffic was diverted off the freeway at Avenue 43, CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.
There were no injuries.
One of the lanes was reopened after cleanup was completed shortly before 6 a.m., Villalobos said. Two lanes remained closed for previously scheduled maintenance work, he added.
The CHP is investigating, including whether the truck may have had its lift raised at the time of the accident.
