A year ago, Jonah Mathews was a freshman guard learning from his brother, Jordan, who would lead Santa Monica to the Southern Section Division 1A championship.

Now Jordan is playing in the Pac-12 for California, but he left behind a younger brother with big-time skills.

Jonah scored 41 points on Wednesday night, making six three-pointers, in Santa Monica’s 85-73 victory over Harvard-Westlake in the Santa Monica tournament.
