Football: An opportunity to attract college offers
One of the best events for senior high school football players still hoping to play college football but who didn’t receive a scholarship offer is the California Showcase set for Feb. 22 at 9 a.m. at the StubHub Center in Carson.
Put together by former UCLA Coach Terry Donahue and the National Football Foundation, it will offer a free camp for athletes seeking exposure and opportunities from coaches representing schools at NCAA Division II, III and NAIA level.

Last year, there were 30 schools and more than 500 athletes who participated. This year there should be more than 50 schools in attendance.
The only requirement to participate is that a senior must either have a 2.5 grade-point average or have scored at least 1100 on the SAT or be in the top half of his graduating class.
“It’s for all kids who want to play college football and continue their education and didn’t get recruited by Division I schools,” Donahue said.
