Baseball: Royal’s Dan Maye nears milestone in coaching
Dan Maye, in his 25th season as coach at Simi Valley Royal, has won 431 games, tying him with former Channel Islands Coach Don Cardinal for most wins by a baseball coach in Ventura County history.
Maye will become the winningest coach in Ventura County history if the Highlanders can knock off Newbury Park on Wednesday.
Maye has guided his team to six Marmonte League champonships. The Highlanders are 15-6 this season.
