National signing day: Linebacker Olajuwon Tucker joins USC
USC once again tapped into its Gardena Serra High pipeline, announcing Wednesday that linebacker Olajuwon Tucker had signed a national letter of intent with the Trojans.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Tucker is the latest of several USC players from Serra.
Former Trojans defensive lineman DaJohn Harris and receivers Robert Woods and Marqise Lee played at Serra.
Junior receiver George Farmer and freshman quarterback Jalen Greene, who graduated from high school in December and is attending USC, also attended Serra.
“He is a tall, rangy linebacker that can play well in space,” USC Coach Steve Sarkisian said of Tucker on USC’s website.
Tucker adds depth to a linebacker corps that includes Hayes Pullard, Lamar Dawson, Anthony Sarao, Quinton Powell, Michael Hutchings and Scott Starr.
Uchenna Nwosu of Harbor City Narbonne also signed with USC and is listed as a linebacker.
